One killed, three injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Nov 11: One person was killed while three others were injured today in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, an old man identified as Rajinder Singh (70) son of Jaswant Singh, resident of Kunjwani and his wife, Bimla Kour (65), received serious injuries when a rashly driven scooty hit them at Kunjwani while they were travelling along the road.
Both the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where Rajinder breathed his last during treatment while the condition of his wife was stated to be stable. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem. Gangyal police had registered a case in this connection and launch a manhunt to nab the scooty rider, who fled from the spot after committing the crime.
Meanwhile, two Constables of J&K police were injured when a bike on which they were travelling, was hit by a speeding Swift car at Panjtirthi. The injured cops were identified as Sanjay Singh (Belt No 1172/J) son of Major Singh, resident of Tutain Di Khui and Ashwani Kumar (Belt No 1304/J) son of Sham Lal of Panjgrian. Both were posted at police station Nagrota.
Both the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment. A case in this connection was registered at police station Pacca Danga and investigation taken up.
