One killed, three injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, May 18: A person was killed while three others were injured in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a motorcyclist identified as Amar Singh (35) son of Joginder Singh, resident of Raipur (Bantalab), sustained serious injuries when a cattle suddenly came in front of his speeding bike at Raipur Chowk, late last night.
The grievously injured man was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
Another mishap occurred today at Bohri, where two scooties collided resulting into injuries to its riders Paramjeet (40) son of late Chuni Lal and Vidhya Rani (60) wife of late Chuni Lal, both residents of Hazoori Bagh (Bohri). Both the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
A motorcyclist identified as Sajad Ahmed (18) son of Gulzar Ahmed, resident of Bathindi, suffered injuries when his bike was hit by a speeding Alto car at Bathindi Morh. The injured youth was hospitalized.
In all cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
