One killed, six injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Dec 30: One person was killed while six others were injured today in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a College student identified as Vishu Sharma (20), son of Surinder Kumar Sharma, resident of Sangrampur, sustained serious injuries this afternoon when a bike bearing registration number JK02BW-2148 on which he was travelling from his college to his residence, was hit by a mini-bus (registration number JK02BN-0677) near KK Resort at Udheywala.
“He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries after some time”, the police official said, adding the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital. He said that police has registered a case in this connection and efforts are on to nab the absconding driver of mini-bus.
Meanwhile, six persons including two kids were injured this evening when a speeding Alto Car bearing registration number JK02BR-3709, while being taking turn towards Gole Market, hit a Scorpio car bearing registration number JK08-6255, on which they were travelling. The collision was so forceful that the Scorpio car turned turtle.
The injured persons identified as Munisha Chouhan (24) wife of Rajesh Chouhan, her minor sons namely Manan (2) and Saksham (1), Anjali (24) daughter of Prem Massi, Shoba (30) wife of Thomas Massi and Rubika (35) wife of Rakesh Chouhan, were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.Nagar police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations. Both the vehicles involved in the mishap were also seized.
