One killed, seven injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Dec 4: One person was killed while seven others were injured today in two separate road accidents occurred in city outskirts.
According to a police official, two youths identified as Shivam Kumar (18) son of Tarsem Lal, resident of Bhadgal Khurd and Amit (27) son of Kewal Krishan, resident of Kanachak, were travelling on a scooty this afternoon when a speeding car hit their two-wheeler at Pargwal area of Khour.
He said in the mishap, both Shivam and Amit received serious injuries and they were shifted to a nearby Government Hospital but in view of their critical condition, they were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where Shivam was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
Another mishap occurred near Sua No 1 in Kanachak area where a car collided with a tipper. In the mishap, six persons travelling in the car were injured and they were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
The injured were identified as Virender Singh (27) son of Avtar Singh of Chak Malal, Ramakant Sharma (33) son of Krishan Chand of Channi, Nitin Sharma (24) son of Subash Chand of Muthi, Dilinder Singh (31) son of Avtar Singh of Chak Malal, Sukhbir Singh (32) son of Suram Singh of Chak Malal and Rakesh Singh (36) son of Thoru Singh of Paloura.
In both the cases, the concerned police have registered cases and started investigations.
