JAMMU, Sept 22: A woman was killed while four others were injured in two separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
“In a hit and run case, a woman pedestrian identified as Rajni Koul (58) wife of Daleep Koul, resident of Bharat Nagar (Talab Tillo) was seriously injured yesterday after a Wagon-R car hit her on Jammu-Akhnoor Road near Kamla Palace”, a spokesman said, adding, the blood-ridden woman was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The spokesman said that after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased woman was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while the concerned police had registered a case in this connection.
In another mishap, four persons were injured today when a truck rolled down the road in Purkhoo area of city outskirts. The injured have been identified as Ramu (20) son of Lalu Ram, resident of Muthi, Karun Chand (35) of Talab Tillo, Mohan Singh (53) son of Sewa Singh, resident of Talab Tillo and Sham Lal (40) son of Dhanu Ram, resident of Muthi. All the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment. The concerned police have taken cognizance of the matter.
