RAJOURI, Apr 27: One member of marriage party was killed while at least ten others injured when a marriage party vehicle rolled down at a village in Darhal area while three persons were injured in car accident in the same area this afternoon.
Official sources said that the incident took place when the vehicle had gone to pick up marriage party members at village Nakka Jabrian (Chowkian), having narrow kucha road link. As the Tempo Traveler vehicle No JK11A/ 7996 arrived there, some members including mostly youth boarded the vehicle as they were already waiting for it. The driver took the vehicle ahead to take turn at some wider patch of this road. As he was taking vehicle back for return journey, the vehicle rolled down into the fields.
The villagers rushed to the accident site and entire celebrations turned into shocking event. One 14-year old boy was killed on the spot while ten others were injured. The police party from Darhal also arrived at the spot. The injured were rushed to Darhal hospital where doctors provided first aid and referred most of them to District Hospital, Rajouri. One of them was later shifted to Military Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Mehraj Ahmed (14), son of Ghulam Mustafa of Chowkian village. The injured hospitalized are – Wajid Hussain (14), son of Wajahid Hussain of Chowkian, Irfan Ahmed (12), son of Munshi Khan; Shahid Malik (11), son of Wajahid, Imtiaz Ahmed (30), son of Mohd Aslam, Raja(15), son of Mustafa; Amir Hussain (13), son of Ikhlaq, Sajjad Hussain (14) son of Ikhlaq, Naseem Akhtar (35), wife of Mohd Ishaq-all from Chowkian; Sarfraz Begum, wife of Mohd Aslam from Darhal Jattan and Abdul Rashid (60), son of Mohd Hafiz, resident of Thannamang. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, police said three persons were injured when an Alto car No. JK11/9876 met with an accident in Darhal area today. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle rolled down the road. The injured were identified as Ishtiaq Hussain, son of Shamas Tabrez of Darhal Chowkian, Rehana Kouser, wife of Shafiq hailing from Chowkian and Tazeem Akhtar, wife of Wajid, resident of Darhal. The injured were admitted to Darhal hospital.
