UDHAMPUR, Dec 1: One person died and 11 others were injured when a minibus carrying a marriage band party from Jammu to Udhampur, met with accident on the National Highway at Salora, near Tikri, late last night.
The accident took place around 1 a.m when the said minibus, bearing registration number JK08A- 7144, turned turtle at Salora. Tikri Police Post I/c Sanjeet Sharma along with police party rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to PHC Tikri when one of them, identified as Shanker Dass, son of Mujni of Muttal, succumbed to his injuries.
One Head Constable of J&K Police, namely Krishan Lal and posted at PP Tikri, was also injured during rescue operation. He was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu for further treatment.
The other injured persons were identified as Madan Lal (40), son of Dharmu of Muttal, Ramesh Kumar (39) son of Chanu Ram of Muttal, Shambu (40) son of Punjabu of Muttal, Kaka Ram (40) son of Gurubachan of Mand, Subash (40) son of Mani Ram of Jib Thathi, Rattan Lal (52) son of Shanker Dass of Muttal, Gyan Chand (50) son of Lundi Ram of Muttal, Chunni Lal (58) son of Dharmu of Muttal, Govind Ram (45) son of Lundi Ram of Muttal, Puran Kumar (17) son of Chain Kumar of Muttal, Bansi Lal (47) son of Dharmu of Muttal and Raj Kumar (39) son of Canu Ram of Muttal.
