JAMMU, July 9: A man was injured today in the collision of a bike and a van in Jourian area of Akhnoor.
According to a police spokesman, a rashly driven Maruti van bearing registration No JK02AP-0839 hit a bike (registration No JK02BR- 6917) at Naiwala and injured its rider, who was identified as Mohan Singh son of Balwant Singh, resident of Dhar Khouri (tehsil Khour).
He said that the driver of the van namely Manjeet Singh son of Gurnam Singh, resident of Jourian, fled from the spot of crime while the local people shifted the injured man to CHC Jourian for treatment.
In this connection, a case FIR No 135/2017 under Sections 279/337 RPC was registered at police station Akhnoor and investigations started.
