One dies, 4 hurt in road accidents

JAMMU, Jan 10: One person was killed while four others were injured in two separate road accidents in district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that a truck bearing registration No. JK02A/ 4788, hit a without number new motorcycle near Kheora in Rajouri town at around 9 am today, causing serious injuries to the two young riders. The truck driver managed to escape from the spot.
The locals rushed the injured boys to District Hospital, Rajouri where one of them was declared as brought dead. He was identified as Mohd Aqab Sheikh (15), son of Mohd Kabir Sheikh, resident of Kheora. His associate Tahir Khan-16, son of Munshi Khan, resident of Azmatabad in tehsil Thannamandi was provided treatment at DH Rajouri and then referred to Jammu. Both were students of class 10th. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. The truck was seized and manhunt for the driver has been launched.
Meanwhile, three persons were injured when a bus (JK02C/ 5186) and truck (JK02D/ 5127) collided near Narian on Nowshera-Rajouri road today. The injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Nowshera. They are identified as Constable Vinay Kumar from DPL Rajouri, Abdul Hamid, son of Mohd Nissar from Jamola village and Amarjeet Singh, son of Tirath Singh, resident of Chowki Handan in Nowshera. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
