JAMMU, Aug 12: In separate incidents, a person today committed suicide while two others made abortive attempts on their lives by consuming some poisonous substances in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a man identified as Satnam (40) son of Babu Ram, resident of Makhanpur Gujjran (tehsil RS Pura) allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence. The dead body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after conducting post-mortem, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, a woman namely Renu Devi (35) wife of Rakesh Kumar, resident of Seri Pandita (Gharota) and a youth identified as Amit (19) son of Gopal Dass, resident of Nai Basti (tehsil RS Pura) also tried to end their lives by consuming some poisonous substances at their respective residences. Both were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
In all three cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
