JAMMU, Jan 9 : In two separate incidents, an 18 year-old girl today committed suicide while a woman made an abortive attempt on her life by consuming some poisonous substances at their respective residences in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, a young girl identified as Neetu (18) daughter of Ashok, resident of Saler (Arnia) allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence following which she was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where she expired at about 9.30 pm.
In a separate incident, a woman namely Sweety Gupta (40) wife of Suraj Gupta, resident of Trikuta Nagar, also made a vain attempt on her life by consuming rat poison at her residence. She is being treated at GMCH Jammu.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
