One commits suicide; 2 victims of accidents succumb

KATHUA, July 11: While one person committed suicide by jumping into river Ravi at Basholi two road accident victims succumbed to their injuries in Kathua district today.
According to police Sandeep Sangra , S/o Kewal Krishan of Ward No 4, Basholi jumped into river Ravi near Atal Sethu today after the performance of 12th day Kriya of his brother who had died recently.
Police said Sangra an employee in SDH Basholi was mentally disturbed for some time and today he jumped into the river. His body has not been located so far and tomorrow the SDRF team will be put into service to locate his body from river.
Police said a motor cyclist who was identified as Balwainder Singh, 22, S/O Sukhdev Singh of Ward No 4 Kathua while on his way from Hatli More to Kalibari late last night was injured seriously after his bike skidded on the road while taking the turn. He was rushed to District Hospital Kathua by some passers in a serious condition where he succumbed to his injuries later. Hatli More Police Post has registered a case under 237/304 RPC and started investigation.
Another youth identified as Dinesh Kumar, S/O Mohan Lal of Arma Nagri Parole hit an animal during the night of July 4 and was injured seriously. He was first taken to Nagri Parole Hospital by the people where from doctors referred him to DH Kathua. However seeing his condition critical the doctors at DH Kathua after giving first aid referred him to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu. After remaining admitted in GMC for about a week, doctors today asked the family to take the youth to their home as he can’t survive. The poor fellow died in the way to his house. The Nagri Parole Police Post has registered a case under Section, 237/304 in this regard.
