Omar lauds Rahul

SRINAGAR, Dec 12: Congratulating Congress President Rahul Gandhi for the success of his party in the recently-concluded Assembly elections to the five States, National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah today said the blame of BJP’s loss in three ‘heartland States’ should go to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his policies, as he took the credit for earlier victories.
In a series of tweets, the former Chief Minister said Gandhi deserves the credit for these victories, as he also took the blame for previous losses. ”Congratulations to the Congress & especially to its leader @RahulGandhi for the great success in these elections.
He took the blame & the brickbats for all the setbacks & now deserves the credit for these victories. ”It was nice to have something to celebrate on counting day,” Abdullah posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Hitting out at the saffron party, he said ”For my friends in the BJP – you can’t blame Rahul Gandhi for losing elections and not apply the same yardstick to Modi. If those were Rahul’s losses then these 3 heartland state losses belong to the Prime Minister & his policies,” he tweeted.
Abdullah once again took a jibe at Raj Bhawan in Jammu and Kashmir over the ‘faulty fax machine,’ which added to the political drama last month, after People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti claimed that she tried to send a fax to the Governor’s office, staking claim to form Government in the state, but the machine was faulty.
The Raj Bhawan fax machine, at that time, had become a butt of all jokes. Abdullah and Mufti even shared memes on Twitter, making fun of the ‘faulty fax machine’.
”Congress leaders aren’t faxing their letter to Raj Bhavan in Bhopal. Smart people. It may be a similar model to the one in Jammu,” Abdullah tweeted.
