JAMMU, Jan 11: Omar Abdullah, MLA, former Chief Minister and Working President of the National Conference, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
He informed the Governor about certain governance issues which are awaiting the State Government’s decision and the significant matters which are expected to be discussed in the ongoing session of the Legislature.
The Governor urged Omar Abdullah and his party to take active positive interest in the advancement of the State’s interests and to see large scale participation in the ensuing Panchayat, Municipal and Parliament elections.
Meanwhile, Rajesh Nirwan, Inspector General BSF (Kashmir) , who took over his charge recently, called on Governor and briefed him about the obtaining security situation in his area of responsibility.
The Governor advised the IG to ensure eternal vigilance on all fronts and, side by side, maintaining the welfare of personnel who are engaged in discharging difficult duties.
