Oil & Gas Conservation Fortnight concludes

JAMMU, Jan 31: “Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight (OGCF)” on the theme “Save Oil, Save Money and Save Environment” organized by Oil Industry concluded here today.
On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Shantmanu was the chief guest, who while speaking underlined the need for launching a vigorous campaign to create awareness among people about the importance of conservation of oil and gas to make the future of country secure.
Divisional Commissioner said that the main objective of celebrating this fortnight is to create awareness about fuel saving tips during day to day activities.
He said that the consumption of fuel like oil and gas used in human activity including transport, industries, agriculture and households can be reduced to a large extent if these tips are followed by the consumers.
Shantmanu stressed on achieving the goal by launching mass awareness campaigns in urban as well as rural areas.
State Level Co-ordinator, Oil Industry J&K Girish Ranjan threw light on aims and objectives of celebration of “Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight”.
He said that various events aimed at creating mass awareness about conserving petroleum products were organized during fortnight.
He added that symposiums, essay competitions, painting, slogan writing, ad making and quiz competitions were held in various schools and colleges while cycle rallies were taken out in various localities besides panel discussions through electronic media.
Later, Divisional Commissioner distributed mementoes among the students who took part in various activities during the fortnight long celebrations.
