CHENNAI, June 8:
About 50 Income Tax officials on Friday raided as many as 23 textiles and jewellary shops belonging to North Indians in the city. Official sources said the IT sleuths raided shops situated in EVT Sampath road, Sowkarpet, Purasawalkam and T.Nagar areas.
The officials checked their accounts as they were evading paying Income Tax. The IT officials also searched the residences of some of shop owners and workers, the sources added. (UNI)
