This is in reference to “The Sage who had to give away his bones’ in Daily Excelsior, Sunday Dated February 25, 2018.
Even today’s India has not forgotten bravery shown by Rishi Dadhichi of highest order by giving his bones as an weapon. Engraved on Paramvir Chakra the highest gallantry medal given to an Indian armed forces member for showing highest order of bravery in the war shown to face enemy are bones of Rishi Dadhichi. Paramvir Chakra is awarded posthumously or to a living soldier by the President of India (Supreme Commander of Armed Forces) who steps down from his seat to honour the recipient on Republic Day Parade. In this way the whole Indian Nation pays gratefulness to the greatest sacrifice made by the soldiers, hence Rishi Dadhichi sacrifice is acknowledged.
