JAMMU, Oct 26: General Conference (Diamond Jubilee Year) of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association (NZIEA)  concluded here today.
The Conference concluded with passage of several resolutions by the general body besides framing of new committee.
During the deliberations,  Amanullah Khan, president, All India Insurance Employees Association said that divisive and communal policies of Central Government are creating havoc in Indian society. Dalits, minorities, women, workers, students, farmers and even common people of this country are under attack by various organs of RSS under the patronage of Central Govt.  In the name of ‘Vikas’ corporate (Indian and foreign) sector is being allowed concessions after concessions at the cost of common man of this country.
Central Government is completely insensitive to the sufferings of people who are facing steep price-rise in staple foods leading to hunger and malnutrition. Democratic institutions are under direct attack.  It is for the first time in the history of the country that even the Supreme Court of the country has to pass numerous strictures against Central Govt in its short span of ruling. Public sector is the main target of attack by Central Govt.   Working class and democratic organizations of the country are resisting all such nefarious designs..
V Ramesh, general secretary of AIIEA said that ensuing countrywide strike on Sept 2, 2016 is the example of unity of working class against anti-people policies of Central Govt.  In the conference, all such issues were discussed. Various  decisions for upholding the democratic traditions of the country and  to safeguard the rights of the working class from the onslaughts of Govt were taken.
Some resolutions were passed as the future tasks for insurance employees. The resolutions pertained to immediate recruitment of Class-III & IV, to provide social security to unorganized sector, collective bargaining right to the Unions, for the betterment of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes, farmers and neo-liberal policies of the  Central Government.
