NYK organizes Inter-Youth Club Tournament

JAMMU, Feb 8: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua, organized two days Inter -Youth Clubs, Block Sports Tournament on theme ‘No Drugs-No Rash Driving’ at High School, Gura Mundian.
In this tournament, Volleyball, Kabaddi and Athletic events were held.
The Tournament was inaugurated by Des Raj, Sarpanch Gura Mundain and Headmaster, GHS Gura Mundian.
In 400 Mtrs Race, Dimple Sharma, Abhishek Sharma, Jattinder Kumar secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
In 100 Mtrs Race, Arshad Ali, Akash Sharma & Vikash Sharma stands 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
In Volleyball competition, Shakti Punj Hiranagar won the trophy by defeating Upper Mela in 3-2 sets in a neck to neck competition.
In Kabaddi Hiranagar defeated Bhajoke chack by 27-10 points and lifted the trophy.
In the prize distribution function, Som Datt Zard, DYC, NYK Kathua, in his address said that NYK is trying to promote Rural Sports Culture by organizing Village Rural Sports Clubs and involve youth in self, village, social and national development by linking them with National Flagship programmes of Government.
Des Raj Sarpanch highlighted the role of Gura Mundian and surrounding village for promoting Sports Culture and expressed hope that collective efforts shall be continue to produce national players.
The match officials were Mohinder Kumar, Kuldeep Singh, Abeshik Sharma, Deepak Sharma and Kasturi Lal.
Avinash NYC, Vishamber Nath, Hem Raj, Sanju Ram, Manga Ram and Senior Citizens were present on the occasion.
