JAMMU, Mar 2: J&K National Trade Union Front (NTUF) has decided to lead the joint protest demonstration of the employees and workers from PHE, ICDS PWD, PDD and various other departments on March 6  at MAM Stadium here.
Talking to media persons here today  president o the NTUF, Mohd Gafoor Dar said that despite many representations submitted to the Government and holding meetings with the top officers, the issues of the employees/ workers have not been resolved. The Government is only buying time and has turned a Nelson eye towards the genuine and justified issues of the employees and workers. He said many workers have not been paid their wages for the last more than 30 months. Anganwadi workers are also without wages for the last eight  months.
Dar said that many temporary workers are facing starvation in view of the non-release of their wages. They are unable to feed their families and pay the fee of  their school  going children.  He said that denying wages to a worker amounts to human rights violation. It is unfortunate that the  honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers is also pending for the last eight months. He demanded immediate release of pending wages of the workers.
He warned against merger proposal of  ICDS Migrant Project Jammu and demanded enhancement of the wages of Helpers and Anganwadi  workers and  provision of  80 %  quota for the Anganwadi workers for the promotion to the post of Supervisor.
