NSUI alleges harassment by JU administration

JAMMU, Nov 11: National Students Union of India (NSUI) has accused the Jammu University Vice-Chancellor of being biased and alleging pursuing anti-students policies in the university.
Addressing a press conference, here today,  the NSUI State vice-president Amjad Bhat alleged that the university administration was harassing the  NSUI activists by issuing baseless notices and summons.

“Few days back, NSUI State general secretary Avijot Singh, who is a student of Buddhist Studies, had raised his concern over the illogic traffic norms on the campus following which the university started harassing him by issuing notices,” he explained.   Justifying the voice raised against the university order asking students to cover long distance for reaching to their respective departments, the NSUI leader stressed that   time of the students is more precious than any other, whether is Vice-Chancellor.
“NSUI did nothing wrong by highlighting the genuine issue of the students but the Jammu University administration is now harassing our activists by one way or the other,” he said and added that the organization would continue to raise voice for the students.
The NSUI leader also threatened  a dharna if the university does not stop harassing them.
Others, who were present in the press conference, included Sunny Parihar, Vipul Katal and  Vishu Charka.
