NSF protests against delay in repatriation of Rohingyas

SAMBA, Sept 9: Agitated over the delaying tactics of the State Government in repatriation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis from Jammu region, National Secular Forum (NSF) activists today held a strong protest demonstration.
Amidst rising of slogans, the protesters also torched an effigy of the Coalition Government and sought immediate repatriation of the illegally settled foreigners from the Dogra soil.
Addressing the gathering, NSF State president Dr Vikas Sharma said that the so called GoM constituted by the State Government for the purpose of deportation of the foreign immigrants to their respective countries had proved an ‘eye wash’.
Referring to the latest communication of Union Home Ministry to all States, Dr Sharma said that the Centre had now directed the State Government to set up a task force at district level to identify and deport illegally staying foreign immigrants. “The J&K Police on the directions of the State Government has compiled the comprehensive data of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis living illegally in the specific areas of jurisdiction but so far it has not been put in the public domain by the State Home Department for unknown reasons,” he added.
“The illegal immigrants have been provided with the electricity connections and it speaks volume about the larger plan to settle these people in Jammu,” he alleged and demanded a through probe into the matter besides immediate snapping of these electricity connections by the PDD.
Among those, who were present in the protest, included, Anshu Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Rakesh Slathia, Sahil Sharma, Sushil Sharma, Arun Bhardwaj, Sahil Singh, Akash Sharma, Jagmohan Singh, Raman Baloria, Vikas Sharma, Arun Manhas, Mohit Slathia, Bharat Singh and others.
