NSF demands separate PSC for Jammu

JAMMU, Mar 19: National Secular Forum (NSF) today flayed J&K Public Service Commission (PSC) for discrimination with Jammu based candidates in the recently released selection list and demanded the State Government to given equal participation in PSC recruitment to all three regions.
Addressing the media-person here today, NSF) State president Dr Vikas Sharma alleged that blue eyed candidates were being recruited by the PSC at the instance of State Government causing resentment among the unemployment youth. He said that in the various selection lists of the different subjects, much preference has been given to the candidates belonging to the Kashmir region.
Dr Vikas explained that out of total posts of 48 of Assistant Professor in Urdu, 28 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 20 from Jammu. In the RBA category out of total of 16 posts 13 candidates are from Kashmir province while only 03 are from Jammu.
“Similarly, out of total posts of 56 of Assistant Professor in EVS, 39 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 17 from Jammu. In the RBA category out of total of 20 posts, 13 candidates are from Kashmir province while 07 are from Jammu. Out of total 10 posts of Assistant Professor in BBA, 07 candidates are from Kashmir and 03 from Jammu. In the RBA category, only one candidate was selected from Jammu and rest five are from Kashmir. Out of total 58 posts of Assistant Professor in Education, 47 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 11 from Jammu. For the 21 posts under RBA category, 18 candidates were selected from Kashmir province and only 03 from Jammu,” he added.
He also gave example of Commerce, Sericulture, Fisheries, Arabic and History subject, in which maximum numbers have been selected from Kashmir Valley.
Urging the Government to rectify the latest lists issued for appointment of Assistant Professors, Vikas demanded separate PSC for Jammu so that genuine candidates could be selected.
