NRF South Africa awards Dr Vinay of CUJ

JAMMU, Jan 7: Dr Vinay Kumar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences, Central University of Jammu, has been awarded with “Excellent Young Researcher Award (Rating C2)” in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the area of nanotechnology by National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa.
This awarded is given to established researchers with a sustained recent research record of productivity in the field who are recognized by their peers as having  produced a body of quality work and  demonstrated the ability to conceptualise problems and apply research methods to investigating them.
Dr Vinay has published 101 international research papers in peer reviewed journals.  His current research focus is to synthesize the fluorescent nanoparticles (so called nanophosphors) for latent fingerprint development, solid state lighting, CRT phosphors, and materials modification using swift heavy ion irradiation and radiation dosimetry.
