NPSU protests against Govt for neglecting Dogri language

JAMMU, Jan 10: Up in arms against alleged failure of the State Government to promote Dogri language, the activists of National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) today held a protest demonstration.
Amidst raising slogans, the protesting NPSU activists assembled near Main Gate of Jammu University and torched an effigy of the State Government.
The protest demonstration was led by Thakur. Virender Singh, State president of NPSU, NPSH leader said that it was really a matter of great concern that Dogri language was being ignored completely in Jammu Kashmir State despite inclusion of the language in 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution. “Even as the students, scholars, and other Dogri speaking people of Jammu have been demanding the introduction of Dogri subject in the schools and colleges, nothing has been done by the Government despite repeated assurances,” he added and referred to the statement made by MoS Education in the House yesterday regarding no exclusive teachers for Dogri language in the schools.
The protesters were demanding appointment of Dogri teachers, Masters and Lecturers besides instituting a Dogri Department in the Central University of Jammu.
