SAMBA, Oct 25:  As a part of its itinerary, the NPP took out a massive ‘Vilay Divas’ rally led by Harshdev Singh chairman  and former Education Minister,  Balwant Singh Mankotia State president JKNPP and  Yash Paul Kundal State president Young Panthers was taken out in Samba town today.
The rally comprising hundreds of vehicles including two wheelers started from Chichi Mata Temple and after passing through link road and main Bazaar culminated at Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk Samba where the gathering was addressed by several party leaders.
Calling upon the people to celebrate the Accession day with jubilation, Harshdev  Singh reprimanded the BJP for its failure to take a stand for celebration of the day as an official function. He said that while the Panthers Party had embarked upon an ‘Accession week’ and organized ‘Vilay Divas’ rallies in various district headquarters which was to culminate in Jammu on October 27, the Saffron Party had displayed an utter lack of commitment with feeble noises made by some of its leaders to organize some functions on October  26, which too, in reality did not qualify as the day of Accession. He said the offer of acceding to Indian Union having been made on October 26 by Maharaja Hari Singh with its acceptance having been given on Oct 27, 1947 by the Governor General of India, it was 27 th of October which legally made J&K integral part of India.
The NPP leader lambasted the BJP for abandoning its previous stand and distancing itself from the demand for declaration of holiday on the Accession Day. Regretting the U-turn taken by BJP to keep its Kashmiri Masters and other separatists in good humour for protecting their ministerial berths, he called upon the nationalist people of Jammu to oppose, expose and depose the power hungry BJP ministers.
He called upon the students and youth to join the panthers Party’s historic Accession Day rally on Oct 27 which would start from Paloura and after passing through various markets of Jammu City culminate at Maharaja Hari Singh Chowk Jammu near Tawi Bridge.
