JAMMU, Dec 1:  Infuriated over the State Government for doling out premium to the anti-nationals and subversives in Kashmir valley  while ignoring the martyrs and nationalists, a large number of J&K National Panthers Party activists led by  party chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh staged a protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here today.
The agitating protesters while accusing BJP of placating the secessionist forces for saving its alliance with PDP, torched its effigy raising anti-Govt and anti- BJP slogans.  They were opposing release of stone pelters.
While addressing the media,  Harsh Dev  said that it was a shot in the arm of subversives and anti- national elements when CM Mehbooba Mufti ordered the withdrawal of 744 cases of stone pelting against 4327 youth in Kashmir a couple of days ago. He accused the BJP of bowing before the dictates of PDP which instead of taking punitive action against the anti- national elements preferred to take forward the suggestion made by its interlocutor to release 4500 first time stone pelters and drop cases against them as amnesty in a bid to appease the separatists.
He said that BJP had been hand in glove with its ally in doling out premiums to the stone pelters and glorifying the militants in the Kashmir valley. “Earlier, the announcement of Rs 5 lakhs ex-gratia relief in favour of next of the kin of Burhan Wani’s brother Khalid Muzaffar Wani who was an OGW of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit operative in Kashmir besides compensation and Govt jobs to the NoKs of the deceased stone pelters including the injured had emboldened the felons and the fringe elements to go berserk over there.
It was the same BJP which in opposition sought sedition charges against stone pelters dubbing them as Pak agents and charging them of facilitating infiltration besides safe passage to militants. The credibility of the un-ethical alliance further, came under the scanner when it doled out back door Govt appointment to Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s grandson Anees-ul-Islam out of the way as research officer in Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC) with an annual salary of Rs 12 lakh by flouting all the recruitment rules.
