The agitated protesters while raising anti-Govt slogans, demanded high level probe into the alleged most unfair /whimsical transfers by the Education Department in circumvention of transfer policy on political and extraneous considerations.
Addressing the media, Harsh Dev alleged that the Education Department had brazenly flouted all norms and procedures and effected highly irregular transfers which had drawn widespread condemnation in Jammu region. He expressed his dismay that the transfer list of Masters revealed large scale ‘zero’ km transfers in blatant violation of transfer norms which were reported to have been made on monetary considerations.
NPP leader said that such weird transfers had fully exposed the hollow claims of the Education Department. He said the list of transfers of Masters indicated that the much proclaimed transfer policy had been thrown to winds by the reckless officers irrespective of the prescribed guidelines.
Expressing shock over the ludicrous nature of transfers, he said that there were instances where the Masters serving in the two schools sharing a common boundary were transferred from one premise to the other on extraneous considerations. Likewise, there were several glaring examples of the masters serving in the schools which were clubbed into one under the so called rationalization policy, had mutual transfers from one school to the other against the guidelines of the transfer policy.
Singh urged upon the Chief Minister to take cognizance of the large scale irregularities in such transfers and order probe into the whole gamut. He also demanded to revoke all such transfers until the final outcome of the investigation.
