JAMMU, Mar 7:  Alleging the collapse of administrative apparatus and breakdown of law and order machinery in the J&K State, scores of National Panthers Party  activists led by its chairman  Harsh Dev Singh held  protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground here today.
While torching the effigy of State Government, the agitated protesters accused both BJP and PDP of fomenting trouble and flaring up tensions in both regions with a motive to polarize the electorate for petty political interests.

Addressing the media persons at the site of protest,  Harsh Dev said that BJP-PDP had not only failed to diffuse tensions in various parts of the State, but its fringe elements were fanning the communal flames for vested political interests particularly in Jammu region. He said that the raging fires in Kathua and Nowshera had spread to other areas and engulfed most of the parts of Jammu region due to provocative and irresponsible utterances of coalition Ministers. He said that the communal forces had got emboldened to the extent that a sacrilegious act was committed yesterday in the heart  of Jammu city in Roop Nagar besides attempts to lock down a Hanuman  Temple in Trikuta Nagar area.
The gruesome murder of a nine year old Sonu in Meen Sarkar area of Bari-Brahmana on Tuesday was also seen as a provocative act to whip up communal tensions, he regretted. He said that escalation in militancy in Kashmir and growing unrest in various parts of Jammu region had created a situation which amounted to constitutional failure within the meaning and scope of Section 92 of the State constitution calling for imposition of Governor Rule.
Harsh Dev lamented that despite MHAs announcements and intelligence reports dubbing Rohingyas and Bangladeshis as a security threat, the BJP-PDP Govt was providing them all basic facilities besides allowing pacca structures for their stay suggesting thereby that there was no proposal in the near future for their deportation. He said that the BJP had been hand in glove with its ally PDP in providing them all kinds of civic amenities to shelter and settle them over here to reduce Dogras to minority.
Anguished over the multiple protests in various parts of Jammu region for creation of new districts,  Harsh Dev smelled a deep rooted conspiracy hatched by the BJP leaders. He said that they had provoked the people in Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote under a ‘divide and rule’ strategy.
