RAJOURI, Mar 27: While indefinite bandh in Nowshera continued today, the people of Budhal  and Surankote  towns also held protests in support of their demand of  Sub Divisional and District status.
While almost all the Government offices were reopened in Nowshera on Monday, the  banking operation was still suspended.  The shops and other business established remained closed on the 40th consecutive day in the town here. The Joint Action Committee led the protest march in the town and later the people sat on dharna at Patel Chowk. They raised slogans against Government and also in support of their demand.
The speakers claimed that they were not satisfied with the   post of ADC and had been struggling for District status. The Govt at least should appoint ADDC   here and Nowshera should not be equated with Sunderbani,  Kalakote  and  Kotranka.

Meanwhile, at Surankote town of Poonch also,  the people held strong protest demonstration and also blocked road for about two hours. They were demanding creation of district at Surankote.  They said it was long pending demand of the people of this area. The movement of vehicles were disrupted on this busy highway.
In Budhal town also, the people took out protest march. They were demanding Sub Divisional status for Budhal and posting of SDM and Tehsildar there. They said  Budhal was Tehsil about three decades back  but it was shifted to Kotranka by conspiracy by NC leadership.  Again, it was given Tehsil status in 2007 but till today Tehsildar was not posted there.
Abdul Latief and Vijay Kumar while leading the protest said that they have submitted a memorandum to  SHO Budhal giving ultimatum to  Administration up to Monday, otherwise, they will be forced to intensify their agitation. The protest march was taken out in the entire town and then it culminated at  the main bazaar, near Bus Stand.
