Notorious criminals arrested with pistols, sharp-edged weapons

JAMMU, Mar 27: RS Pura police foiled a murder plan by arresting four persons with pistols, live cartridges and sharp-edged weapons.
This was stated by RC Kotwal, SP Headquarters Jammu during a press conference at RS Pura police station today.
He informed that on specific information received from reliable source that some criminals have hatched conspiracy to murder their associate, a team from RS Pura police station laid a naka on Tanda road near Chohala.
During checking, police team signaled five persons riding on two motorcycles to stop for checking, he said, a motorcycle was having registration number JK02AK 1451 and another was without registration number.
“On seeing police cops, the riders accelerated the vehicles and escaped from the spot. The pillion riders riding on both the motorcycles took out their pistols and cocked it with an aim to fire at the police cops, he said, adding that police cops after endangering their lives chased and intercepted the vehicles.
SP informed that four persons were arrested while one of their associate managed to escape from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Bikramjeet Singh alias Vicky, son of Mohan Singh of Babliyana, Satwari, Gagandeep Singh, son of Inderjeet Singh of Digiana Camp, Dashmesh Nagar, Gagandeep Singh, son of Joginder Singh of Simbal Morh and Paramjeet Singh, son of Harnaam Singh of Seora.
On their personal search, police team recovered 1 loaded pistol, one loaded country made pistol, 11 live cartridges of 8 MM and two sharp edged weapons (tokka and khokri).
During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the notorious criminals were on their way to eliminate their associate, SP said, adding that swift and timely action by the cops thwarted their nefarious designs and averted possible law and order situation.
A case under FIR Number 46/16 under Section 307 RPC, 4/25 and 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against them at police station RS Pura and manhunt has been launched to nab their associate, who escaped from the spot.
Police team led by SHO RS Pura Dayama Harish Kumar and assisted by SI Ashwani Kumar, Subash Singh, Gangandeep Singh and Tarsem Lal, Constables, Driver Avtar Singh and SPO Bawa Singh foiled the murder plot under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
