Northern Command Principals Conference held

Udhampur, Sept 24:  A two-day-long Northern Command Annual Principals’ Conference was held at Army Public School (APS), Senior Wing, Udhampur.
The inaugural function was presided over by the Chief of Staff of Northern Command Lt Gen NPS Hira, and attended by the chairmen and Principals of various APS’s in Northern Command and also representative Principals’ of all the other five commands in India.
The Managing Director, Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) AWES, Maj Gen BS Daulta, (retd) also flew down from headquarters AWES Delhi to attend the meeting.
The Chairman, APS Udhampur, Brig Manoj Mohan, delivered the welcome address.
The Chief of Staff (COS), Northern Command who is also the Chairman Board of Adm of APS’s in Northern Command, subsequently delivered the Inaugural address.
The Director AWES, Northern Command then gave an academic appraisal to everyone present in the meeting.
The COS, HQ Northern Command, Lt Gen NPS Hira later gave away the prizes for academic excellence, sports and co-curricular activities.  The award for academic excellence was given away to APS Srinagar.
For excellence in Sports APS Akhnoor bagged the award and for excellence in co-curricular activities APS Nagrota received the award.
Two teachers, namely Manju Sharma, PRT and Rajni Gupta, TGT(Science) from APS Rakhmuthi and Sandeep Marhatta, Principal, APS Srinagar received the prestigious commendation certificates for excellence in teaching.
