No time-frame for operationalization of 158 administrative units: Mir

JAMMU, Mar 30: Minister for Revenue, Javaid Mustafa Mir today made it clear that Government has not fixed any time frame for operationalization of 158 administrative units, which have been created on the recommendations of Expert Committee headed by Khurshid Ahmad Ganie.
Replying to the questions of NC MLA, Devender Singh Rana and PDP MLA, Javaid Hassan Baig in the Legislative Assembly, Mr Mir said, “no specific date can be given regarding operationalization of 158 administrative units created on the recommendation of Ganie committee”, adding “it will be subject to the creation of necessary staff, infrastructure and availability of sufficient funds”.
Disclosing that an amount of Rs 300.64 crore is required an account of revenue and capital components, the Minister said, “the matter is under examination in consultation with Finance and Planning and Development Departments for earmarking necessary funds”.
Replying to another query, he said that all the units have been created on the basis of public demand and the parameters laid down for the purpose.
It is pertinent to mention here that Expert Committee headed by Khurshid Ahmad Ganie has recommended 9 Sub-Divisions, 50 Tehsils and 99 Niabats.
