JAMMU, Mar 5: One week has passed but there is no progress in the case of Neha Basson, wife of Inspector Vivek Basson, a police officer posted in the Chief Minister’s security, who died on February 23 after receiving a bullet injury at her residence here at Exchange Road.
“We are still clueless whether it was a suicide or a murder but one thing is clear that the bullet was fired from the service revolver of the Inspector Vivek Basson, who was also present in the house at the time of incident”, police sources said.
Sources said that there is no eye-witness in the case and so nothing could be said till postmortem report comes. However, statements of the family members have been recorded, which did not help much in the investigation.
They said that all the evidences collected from the spot had already been sent to forensic lab but the report will unlikely to come soon as it is a time consuming process but the postmortem report of the deceased may come this week, which will certainly throw light on the case and most of the things will clear.
