POONCH, Mar 13: No operation of weekly cross LoC bus could take place today in view of heavy shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch sector since yesterday.
Official sources said that over two dozen passengers hailing from Pak occupied Kashmir, who intended to return to their homes in PoK, reported at Poonch city in the morning for their onward journey to PoK via Chakkan-da-Bagh but the Pak authorities did not open the gates. Even they did not respond to the calls from this side.
In view of the heavy shelling and tension along the LoC, especially Degwar, Malti, Golpur, Khari Karmara area, the bus operation could not take place from the either side today. The shells from Pak side have hit the trade centre and a school building. The passengers had to go back to the homes of their respective relatives. The travel permit of many passengers from PoK was expiring today. Their stay will be illegal from today onwards, the sources said.
