JAMMU, Mar 13: National Mazdoor Conference has urged the Governor N N Vohra to include the corpus amount for payment of long pending wages in respect of nearly 61,000 daily rated workers across various departments and utilities of State Government in the run up to approval of State Government Budget 2016-17 by State Administrative Council.
Addressing a well attended NMC workers meet here today at Jammu, NMC president, Subhash Shastri, while appreciating the constitution of empowered committee under Chief Secretary, BR Sharma, to look into the issue of regularization of these workers, suggested a strict time bound schedule to be finalized and hoped that the regularization of eligible workers will be announced at the earliest. Shastri also urged Vohra to consider removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre of the State.
Shastri lamented that State Government employees and pensioners are yet to be paid DA @6% due from July 1, 2015 and hoped that the same will be released soon, due to fresh DA installment becoming due in respect of Central Government employees.
Regarding the issue of EPF withdrawals, Shastri expressed the opinion that central laws on this issue are not in the interest of workers and appealed Union Finance Minister to roll back this order immediately as there is no viable social security net at present.
Several resolutions were adopted in the meet, which included immediate issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily rated workers working in Rural Development Department, enhancing wages of daily rated workers to Rs 10000 per month, issuance of notification regarding implementation of 7th Pay Commission, setting up of National Wage Commission, enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month and strict implementation of CP Fund deduction scheme in all departments of the State Government.
