JAMMU, July 1: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce the release of pending installment of DA due from July 1, 2018 in favor of Central and State Government employees and pensioners.
“We appeal to PM Narendra Modi to announce the release of 2% DA due from July 1, 2018 in favor the employees and pensioners of Central and State Governments in view of increasing inflation and price hike of essential commodities,” Shastri said in a memorandum sent to Modi.
Shastri said the price index which was 5.90 per cent in December 31,2017 stands at 10.75 in June 30, 2018 and urged PM to take decision in this regard at the forth coming Union Cabinet meeting.
Shastri said prices of all essential commodities have gone up so there was no justification on the part of the Central Government for withholding this installment for their employees and pensioners.
