NMC demands implementation of SPC recommendations

JAMMU, Oct 19: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has demanded implementation of Seventh Pay Commission (SPC) recommendations and removal of pay anomalies in pay structure of lower class cadre of both centre and State Governments.
NMC President, Subash Shastri quoted recommendations of Ashok Lavasa Committee report in this regard.
He informed that the report has already been submitted to the Union Finance Minister by the Committee for approval.
Addressing NMC workers meet here, he said that the issue may be a major issue in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections as Government employees and pensioners constitute a sizable voter constituency.
Lavasa Committee in its report had proposed a minimum scale of Rs. 21,000 as the initial scale of pay in government services.
Shastri hoped that PM and Union Finance Minister may take some action before presenting final budget.
He appealed to the Governor to issue clear cut directions to the concerned authorities to release seventh pay commission arrears in one go to all age of group of pensioners.
Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Surinder Kumar and others were also present in the meeting.
