NMC appeals PM to release pending DA of employees

JAMMU, Feb 16: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to announce and release the pending instalment of 10 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) due since January 1, 2014 in favour of both Central and State Government employees at next Union Cabinet meeting.
While addressing a large gathering of NMC activists, NMC president, Subhash Shastri said that salaried class was facing a lot of economic hardships due to high inflation and price rise and the early release of DA would be genuine measure to provide some relief to them.
Stressing for formulating a National Pay Policy throughout the Country, Shastri further demanded for declaring 7th pay commission as a “National pay commission” which should cover both Central and State Government employees and pensioners.
Shastri also demanded enhancement in the wages of daily wagers to Rs 10,000 per month, regularisation of all daily wagers, grant of disturbed area allowance, implementation of all Central labour laws, increase of medical allowance to Rs 1,000 per month, etc.
