Nirmal Singh calls on Speaker Lok Sabha

NEW DELHI, Aug 11: Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh, called on Speaker of Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan here today.
During the meeting, Singh informed the Lok Sabha Speaker about the status of progress made on the ambitious e-Assembly project in J&K that has been envisaged for end-to-end computerization and digitization of the Assembly proceedings.
He also apprised her about the status of construction works on new Legislature Complex at Jammu.
Meanwhile, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh said that cultural heritage should be preserved and protected for the future generations on a mission mode and every member of the society should contribute towards this movement.
The Speaker was speaking at a two-day national seminar on “Folk Traditions and Culture, Heritage and History” organized by Shodhak organization in Jaipur.
He said that study of folk traditions, culture, heritage and history provides a journey into the past and gives an insight into the social evolution of man through ages. He said that there are many other benefits too and for all these reasons everybody should preserve these rich traditions, especially for the benefit of future generations.
