JAMMU, Mar 26: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, Incharge Power Development, Housing and Urban Development Department today conducted surprise raid at Workshop of the PDD and detected irregularities in repair of the transformers.
He directed Principal Secretary PDD Sandeep Naik to order attachment of concerned Executive Engineer, AEE and other officers for irregularities and dereliction of duty.
During surprise check, Dr Singh found that the staff was using less wire in the transformers as per the prescribed norms, which could have again led to damage to the transformers. One of the transformers was found having 10 kilograms less wire.
The Deputy Chief Minister took strong exception to irregularities in repair of the transformers and directed the Principal Secretary PDD to order attachment of the Executive Engineer and AEE among others.
He also asked the Principal Secretary to set up three members committee for an inquiry into the irregularities.
