JAMMU, July 9: In an impressive function at Jammu Club today, District Governor of Rotary District 3070 Barjesh Singhal installed Nirmal Gupta as President of Rotary Club Jammu Aastha.
Other Board of Directors installed included Dr. Dinesh Luthra as Sr. Vice President, Sumil Goyal as Secretary, Sourav Malhotra as Treasurer, Sahil Chopra as Joint Secretary, Aditya Gupta as President Elect, Himanshu Mahajan as Sgt-at-arms and R S Goel as Club Trainer. Amit Gupta, Surinder Bansal, Chander Goel, V M Goyal and Vipan Bhasin were installed as Director Committees in the new team.
Earlier during the day, DG Barjesh Singhal donated Dry Ration to the inmates of Ved Mandir at Amphalla and also conducted Governor Official Visit of the Club. He lauded the projects being done by the club for the welfare of the community and impressed upon doing permanent project with the help of District Grants and Global Grants from Rotary Foundation.
Master of Ceremony, V M Goyal conducted the proceedings of the installation ceremony. Outgoing President Vipan Bhasin presented a detailed report of the projects carried out during the last year.
DG Singhal also presented District Awards to the members of the Rotary Club Jammu Aastha. Sumil Goyal was awarded Best Assistant Governor, Vipan Bhasin as Best President and Nirmal Gupta as Best Secretary. Award of Appreciations were also given to Amit Gupta, Sahil Chopra, Sourav Malhotra and Aditya Gupta.
Charter Certificate was also presented to the members of “We The Human”, which has been sponsored and associated with Rotary International as Rotary Community Corps for the services being provided for the welfare of the community.
New members inducted in the Installation function were Himanshu Mahajan, Preeti Mahajan, Varun Choudhary, Deepti Choudhary, V S Bajwa, Rajni Choudhary, Pranav and Sanjeev Gupta. Justice (Retd) Y S Manhas, Anuj Verma and Vikas Abrol were also inducted as Honorary Members of Rotary Club of Jammu Aastha for their commitment towards service to the community.
