JAMMU, Oct 20: Having entered into its 22nd glorious year of existence in the City of Temples, National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFD) organized a two-day long annual exhibition-cum-sale “Expressions–Define Yourself” at its campus at Karan Market.
The event was inaugurated by super model Pooja Bhasin, a well known face in the Fashion industry.
The budding designers of the NIFD worked according to their themes in the ongoing exhibition-cum-sale wherein other than their regular curriculum work, the students also displayed their creative designer creations.
The whole collection of the designer creations was divided into various sections called as ‘Possessiins’ pertaining to the beautiful handmade jewellery, another section was named as “Temptations’ related to the home decor in which the students put their efforts and creativity to make different decoration items.
One more section was ‘Imaginations’ depicting the art work through the beautiful paintings done by the students as per their own imagination and creativity.
Last but not the least there was a section ‘Fascinations’ wherein the more established designers, the proud pass outs of 1st year NIFD, put up their creativity on display, the designer wears, designed and constructed by themselves.
In the ‘Temptations’ section vases out of bottles, Ganeshas, elephants, decorative pots, gel candles, coasters, cushions and many other items were put on display. All the items were sold away like hot cakes.
Super model Pooja Bhasin in her address encouraged the students for their hard work and innovative ideas and creations which were presented very creatively and aesthetically.
NIFD Chairperson, Vanita Thakur said that this year NIFD was celebrating 21 years of successfully nurturing the best designers in Jammu.
“There is no better way than to celebrate it than in our own very creative style. This exhibition-cum-sale is getting overwhelming response and Jammuities are also appreciating the talent of the students”, she maintained.
Vanita Centre Head Rashim Chib was also present on the occasion.
