Nickel edges up on scattered demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 21:  Nickel prices edged higher by Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on scattered demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market.
However, other base metals held steady in thin trade.
Traders said mild demand from consuming industries particularly from alloy-makers at domestic spot market mainly led to the rise in nickel prices.
In the national capital, nickel plate (4×4) traded higher by Rs 3 to Rs 810-815 per kg.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 104-110, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 810-815, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 356, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 89, lead imported Rs 95, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148. (PTI)
