Nickel, copper strengthen on increased offtake

NEW DELHI, Feb 13:  Prices of nickel and copper strengthened by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today due to pick up in demand from consuming industries.
Traders said besides pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, reports of a firm trend overseas mainly kept nickel and copper prices higher.
In the national capital, nickel plate (4×4) and copper mixed scrap remained in demand and gained Rs 2 each to Rs 823-828 and Rs 345 per kg, respectively.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 92-98, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 823-828, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 345, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 80, lead imported Rs 86, aluminium ingots Rs 144, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 140, aluminium wire scrap Rs 140 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 138. (PTI)
