NIACL launches PMJDY at GCW Parade

JAMMU, Aug 28: Joining local banking sector in launching Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY), Government of India owned New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL) launched a massive campaign at Government College for Women (GCW), Parade, here today.
Under the comprehensive financial inclusion scheme, every bank account holder will be provided a Rupay card, by which the beneficiary will be insured for a sum of Rs 100,000 per year against all types of accidents.
Briefing about the scheme, Divisional Manager of the company, Dr Daleep Pandita, said that this accident insurance policy is valid all over India for 24 hours and cover common risks like snake bite, electric shocks, falling, drowning besides road accidents and losses due to other natural calamities. However, post mortem examination is the main document needed for its claim settlement which is payable to the nominee, he added.
Dr Pandita said that no medical examination or any income proof is required for taking this low premium insurance scheme and it shall be a cherished endeavour for NIACL to percolate its benefits to the rural people.
