NIA takes custody of Pak ultra

Srinagar, July 27: The National Investigating Agency (NIA) today took over the custody of Pakistani militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), who was captured by police two days ago.
A team of NIA today visited Handwara where police handed over Pakistani militant Bahadur Ali, 22, alias Saifullah of Lahore Pakistan to them. The militant was arrested from village Yahama in Mawar area of Qalamabad, Handwara in district Kupwara on July 25.
The militant was part of 4 member group that was hiding in the forests of Handwara since last month. It had infiltrated into Kashmir in June this year. Sources said that the group was being tracked for over a week before Saifullah was arrested. He was sent by his group to buy ration but was captured by police.
Security forces launched massive operation against his three accomplices but they had fled from the spot where they used to hide with Saifullah. However, during the operation the security forces gunned down four militants of another LeT group which had infiltrated last week only.
The militant has told his interrogators that he was trained along with other LeT militants in a training camp in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). He has revealed that before infiltrating, he along with others received fresh training in handling of weapons, map reading and operating GPS device.
The militant has revealed that they were told by their handlers to hide in the forests in North Kashmir and were waiting for further directions. He has further revealed that large number of LeT militants are receiving training in PoK and are waiting for infiltration on launching pads.
