NIA joins probe in Kishtwar killings

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Nov 10: A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) today reached Kishtwar to assist local police in investigation of the killing of BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar 10 days back.
“The NIA team will only assist Kishtwar police in the investigations. The case hasn’t been handed over to the NIA,” police sources said, adding that the NIA team comprised technical experts, who will analyze certain data collected by the police to reach to the accused.
Police have already constituted a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to investigate the killings, which had resulted into imposition of curfew in Kishtwar.
The Parihar brothers were killed by the militants on November 1 when they were returning to their house after closing their stationery shop.
