NIA chargesheets 3 ULFA cadres for anti-national activities

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today chargesheeted three persons of the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) for their involvement in terrorist activities in the country.

The accused chargesheeted have been identified as Gagan Hazarika, Paresh Baruah and Abhijit Asom. Paresh and Abhijit are still absconding, an NIA official said.

All the accused were involved in anti-national activities in the country by recruiting new cadres, organising terrorist camps within as well as beyond the Indian Territories and were resorting to extortion and kidnapping to raise funds for attacking the Indian Security Forces, Government establishment and infrastructure, thereby intending to wage war against the country, he added.
