JAMMU, Mar 11: NHM Employees Association (NHMEA) today extended its ongoing sit-in protest for next 72 hours, as no headway could be made in its talks with Health Minister and Mission Director, NHM.
As per a release issued here by the association, a delegation of NHMEA led by provincial president, Jammu Division, Rohit Seth and president, Kashmir Division, Shaheen Nawaz, met Mission Director (MD) NHM this evening and asked him for written assurance to resolve their demands, which the MD refused to do, forcing the NHM Employees to extend their sit-in protest for next 72 hours.
Quoting Rohit Seth, the release said that the protesting NHM Employees have been approaching the State Government and the concerned departments for last five years seeking a policy for their regularization but unfortunately nobody paid any heed towards their genuine demands. Seth said that the association will leave no stone unturned and fight till the NHM employees get their rights.
“We have decided to continue out sit-in protest and pen down strike for next 72 hours and if the Government fails to fulfill our demands within this period, we may go for indefinite strike,” said Shaheen Nawaz.
